OSHA 30 Hours Construction Industry
For managers and supervisors, safety officers, or anyone interested in pursuing a career in the safety profession, the NASP/IASP 30-hour Construction training is intended to serve as a roadmap for developing and fostering a safety culture in the workplace. This course will provide an extensive review of OSHA’s regulations, standards, and practices as outlined in 29 CFR Part 1926.
As a student, you will learn how to manage the fundamental components of a workplace safety and health program. This entails being aware of your employer’s obligations for worker safety as well as your own and your employee’s rights to information regarding any risks associated with your work.
In addition to this instruction, students must get extra training on specific job hazards as mandated by OSHA requirements. Upon successfully completing the course, participants will receive a wallet card and NASP 30-Hour Construction certificate.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to:
- Describe to OSHA-covered employees the significance of OSHA in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Recognize the part management plays in establishing a safe and healthy workplace.
- Determine the struck-by, caught-in, and caught-between risks linked to severe injuries sustained during construction.
- Determine which PPE to employ depending on the kinds of dangers present and a workplace assessment.
- Recognize the risks that lead, asbestos, and crystalline silica present in construction and learn how to prevent and manage them.
- Understand how the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) is used and maintained, as well as the components of the Hazard Communication Standard and the information needed on Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and warning labels.
- Understanding electrical terminology, fundamental electrical safety concepts, and electrical safety laws are all part of interpreting safe work practices for electricity.
- Determine the risks connected to powered hand tools and acknowledge the safety risks associated with non-powered hand tools.
- Recognize the different kinds of fall hazards and use the proper fall protection to prevent falls in your workplace.
- Recognize the risks associated with excavations and the safe work procedures for workers near or in trenches.
- Know the different kinds of scaffolds and how to use them properly.
- Determine the safety regulations for operating near or with cranes, including how to identify potential risks and prevent mishaps.
- Understand workplace risks, safe forklift operating methods, and how to manage specific forklift kinds.
- Recognize a confined area, its risks, OSHA’s regulations, and the obligations of restricted space operations personnel.
- List fire safety precautions and explain OSHA’s fire safety regulations.
- Describe the general safety standards for cutting and welding and enumerate the safety measures.
- Determine the OSHA safety standards for building projects that include steel erection, masonry, and concrete.
